Clause 10, page, 10, line 39, at end insert—
("(a) for requiring cream or separated milk to be subjected to specified treatment before being sold for human consumption;")
§ LORD CARRINGTONMy Lords, all these Amendments to Clause 10 deal with what one might call the milk clause. I will try to explain them briefly. The first Amendment, that at page 10, line 39, should be read with the Amendment at page 11, line 5. The object of these two Amendments is to extend to cream and separated milk the same sort of provisions as apply to specially designated milk. This extension has been requested by the trade for reasons of equity and is only reasonable, since most of the country will soon become a specified area where all "whole" milk will have to be specially designated. This brings cream into the 1715 same sort of line. The second Amendment is consequential. I beg to move that the House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.
