§ LORD SHEPHERDMy Lords, representations have been made to the Ministers concerned asking that in future there should be included in the Titles 980 of Orders of this style some territorial reference, so that your Lordships may understand for what purposes the Orders appear. That will obviate the necessity of making an explanation. To keep the records up to date, however, I had better say, in connection with these two Orders, that the first, Order No. 9, refers to the City of Bath and North Somerset, and is rendered necessary by an extension of the municipal boundaries of the City of Bath. Order No. 10 refers to the two constituencies of Plymouth, Devonport and Sutton, and to the Tavistock Division, where alterations are rendered necessary by an extension of the municipal boundaries of the City of Plymouth. I beg to move that the Orders be approved.
§ Moved, That the House of Commons (Redistribution of Seats) Draft Orders, 1951 (Nos. 9 and 10), reported from the Special Orders Committee yesterday, be approved.—(Lord Shepherd.)
§ On Question, Motion agreed to.
