HL Deb 08 December 1942 vol 125 cc473-4
LORD DAVIES

My Lords, I beg to ask the second question on the Paper in my name.

[The question was as follows:

To ask His Majesty's Government, if they will consider the possibility of amending the provisions of the Wireless Telegraphy Acts, 1904–1928, in such a way as to relieve members of the Armed Forces of the U.S.A. and other Allied Nations from the necessity of purchasing licences in respect of any radio receiving sets which may be in their personal possession during their stay in this country.]

LORD TEMPLEMORE

My Lords, my right honourable friend is making administrative arrangements which will effect the object of the noble Lord's suggestion without necessitating an amendment of the Wireless Telegraphy Acts.
