HL Deb 21 July 1936 vol 102 c134
THE MARQUESS OF ZETLAND

My Lords, I need hardly say how gratified I am to find that my noble friend Lord Rankeillour and the noble Marquess, Lord Salisbury, have on this occasion found that the proposed action on my part is innocuous—almost, I think, for the first time. In regard to this particular Order, the object of it is to give to a person who might be assessable to Income Tax in India and in Burma, and possibly in the United Kingdom also, protection against being called upon to pay Income Tax three times over. It also provides for certain arrangements under which the loss will be shared between India and Burma. I beg to move.

Moved, That the Draft Order, as presented to Parliament and reported from the India and Burma Orders Committee on Thursday last, be considered and approved.—(The Marquess of Zetland.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
