HL Deb 13 December 1926 vol 65 c1557

Clause 6, page 4, lines 32 and 33, leave out lines 32 and 33.

THE EARL OF AIRLIE

My Lords, this Amendment is of a simple character. The words omitted merely empowered the Statutory Commissioners to declare a particular statute unalterable by the University. They are not in the Oxford and Cambridge Act and there seems no reason why the University of London should have less power over its future and its new constitution than the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. I beg to move that this House agrees with the Commons Amendment.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(The Earl of Airlie.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
