Brought from the Commons.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 1ª.—(Lord Wimborne.)

On Question, Bill read 1ª, and to be printed.

LORD WIMBORNE

My Lords, the object of this Bill is to extend to Ireland the provisions of the Housing Act which your Lordships recently passed. Anybody familiar with the conditions in Dublin and elsewhere in regard to housing must be well aware of the necessity which Ireland has of sharing in the provisions of the Act to which your Lordships recently gave your assent. In these circumstances I hope the House will pass this Bill.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 2ª.—(Lord Wimborne.)

On Question (Standing Order No. XXXIX having been suspended), Bill read 2ª: Committee negatived: Bill read 3ª, and passed. (No. 268.)
