HL Deb 17 July 1903 vol 125 c975
*LORD BRAYE

, who had given notice "To ask His Majesty's Government whether they intend to propose any further legislation in reference to the Accession Oath imposed on the Sovereign by the Statute of William and Mary, commonly called the Royal Declaration" said: My Lords, since placing this Question on the Paper I have learnt that it is the intention of certain members of your Lordships' House to re-open the question of the Accession Oath early next session, and to propose legislation in reference to it. That being so, I beg leave to withdraw the Question standing in my name for the present, and to express the hope that when the time comes the Government may deal favourably with and adopt any satisfactory measure that may be propounded in the direction of a remedy.
