Message from the Commons that they have appointed a Committee, to consist of five Members, to join with a Committee of this House to consider the various charitable agencies now in operation, and the funds available for relieving widows and orphans of soldiers and sailors, with a view to ensuring that the funds supplied by local and private benevolence are applied to the best advantage in supplementing a scheme of Government pensions for widows and orphans of soldiers and sailors who have lost their lives in war; and to request this House to appoint an equal number of Lords to be joined with the Members of their House; the said Message to be taken into consideration to-morrow.
