My Lords, the object of this Bill is to enable the guardians of a poor-law union to send children and lunatics to institutions situated outside the boundaries of their union, and also to enable the limit of land which may be acquired under the existing law for the purposes of poor-houses, schools, and other institutions under the control of the guardians, to be exceeded in special cases.
