HC Deb 07 June 2004 vol 422 c38
Mr. Tam Dalyell (Linlithgow) (Lab)

On a point of order, Mr. Speaker. May I appeal to your theological erudition and ask whether "Jonah" is a proper parliamentary term? While you are thinking of the answer, Mr. Speaker, may I point out to my right hon. Friend the Member for Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley (Mr. Foulkes) that, under the previous Saddam regime, there were, for all its faults, substantially more women in the Iraqi Parliament than in the House of Commons?

Mr. Speaker

May I tell the Father of the House that I leave my theology to the Speaker's Chaplain?
