Queen's recommendation having been signified—

Motion made, and Question put forthwith, pursuant to Standing Order No. 52 (Money resolutions and ways and means resolutions in connection with Bills),

That, for the purposes of any Act resulting from the Traffic Management Bill, it is expedient to authorise the payment out of money provided by Parliament of—

  1. any expenditure incurred by the Secretary of State in respect of—
    1. (a)traffic officers designated under the Act;
    2. 129
    3. (b)the establishment and operation of regional centres for the management of traffic on the network of roads for which the Secretary of State is the traffic authority;
    4. (c)the provision, for purposes connected with the management of traffic on that road network, of information or advice to the public; or
    5. (d)other activities carried out for purposes connected with the management of traffic on that road network;
  2. any other expenditure incurred by the Secretary of State in consequence or by virtue of the Act;
  3. any increase attributable to the Act in the sums payable out of money so provided by virtue of any other Act.—[Mr. Bob Ainsworth.]
