§ Mrs. Janet Dean (Burton)I wish to present a petition from my constituents and people in areas around Uttoxeter who are concerned about the proposal to close the Uttoxeter jobcentre, leaving a large area of Staffordshire without that important local service.
The petition states:
The Petition of the people of Uttoxeter,Declares that proposals to close Uttoxeter Jobcentre will have a detrimental effect on customer service and an adverse effect on the local economy.The Petitioners therefore request that the House of Commons urge the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions to re-examine the decision to close Uttoxeter Jobcentre and to maintain the full provision of Jobcentre Plus services in Uttoxeter.And the Petitioners remain, etc.To lie upon the Table.
