HC Deb 22 October 2002 vol 391 cc246-7 10.27 pm
Mr. Parmjit Dhanda (Gloucester)

I am delighted to be able to present a petition calling for greater regulation of air weapons, which was signed by 272 people from my constituency of Gloucester. The petition Declares that greater regulation of our weapons will save lives and improve animal welfare. The Petitioners therefore request that the House of Commons urge the Secretary of State for the Home Department to bring forward legislative proposals to raise the minimum age for unsupervised use of air weapons from 14 to 17 years, and to bring the regulation of air weapons into line with existing firearms legislation. And the Petitioners remain, etc.

To lie upon the Table.
