Amendments made: No. 82, in page 20, line 20, at end insert— '(ba) he is convicted of an offence (or any of the offences) mentioned in section 29(2)(a),'.

No. 83, in page 20, line 24, leave out from second "the" to "he" in line 25 and insert "relevant period".

No. 84, in page 20, line 33, at end insert— '(3) The relevant period is the period of 28 days starting with—

  1. (a) the date on which the defendant was convicted of the offence mentioned in section 29(2)(a), or
  2. (b) if there are two or more offences and the convictions were on different dates, the date of the latest.
(4) But in a case where section 29(2)(a) applies to more than one offence the court must not make an order under this section unless it is satisfied that there is no possibility of any further proceedings being taken or continued in relation to any such offence in respect of which the defendant has not been convicted.'.—[Mrs. McGuire.]
