HC Deb 18 December 2002 vol 396 c974 11.10 pm
Andrew Selous (South-West Bedfordshire)

I rise to present a petition on affordable credit on behalf of several hundred of my constituents in the Dunstable area.

The petition states: To the House of Commons The Petition of Constituents Concerned about Debt on our Doorstep. Declares that millions of people in the United Kingdom struggle with poverty and debt; that this issue should be brought to the attention of Parliament. The Petitioners therefore request that the House of Commons urge the Social Exclusion Unit to tackle the issue of extortionate lending and to support affordable credit. And the Petitioners remain, etc. To lie upon the Table.
