Friend and I have had discussions with representatives of the Welsh Local Government Association about the Local Government Bill. On 25 February, I addressed a meeting of the Welsh Local Government Association co-ordinating committee.
§ Mrs. WilliamsDoes my hon. Friend agree that the new deal that will give local councils responsibility to promote well-being in their areas is a significant step forward, and one that shows that the Government have listened?
§ Mr. HansonThe well-being power will ensure that councils are at the centre of their local communities. The Government have given an important power and councils throughout Wales and England will benefit from it.
