§ Mr. Adrian Sanders (Torbay)I wish to present a petition from residents of Torbay—collected in sub-post offices in the constituency—who are concerned about changes to the methods of benefit payment. It reads:
To the House of Commons.The petition of residents of Torbay declares that the proposed changes in the method of benefit payments will have a detrimental effect on the post office network in Devon and Cornwall.The petitioners therefore request that the House of Commons urge the Secretary of State for Social Security to reconsider these proposals.And the petitioners remain, etc.
