HC Deb 14 May 1999 vol 331 cc611-2

Motion made, That, for the remainder of the present Session of Parliament, Standing Order No. 152 (Select committees related to government departments) shall have effect subject to the following modification in line 48, at the end to add— '(4A) Notwithstanding paragraphs (2) and (4) above, where more than two committees or sub-committees appointed under this order meet concurrently in accordance with paragraph (4)(e) above, the quorum of each such committee or sub-committee shall be two.'.—[Mr.Hill.]

Hon. Members

Object.

Mr. David Maclean (Penrith and The Border)

On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker. One is grateful for the presence throughout those proceedings of the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. For his benefit, and in case he is tempted to say that only Conservatives objected, may it be noted that Labour Front Benchers also objected to Bills today?

Mr. Deputy Speaker

That is not a point of order for me.
