§ Madam SpeakerI have to inform the House that I have received a letter from the judge in the case relating to Mrs. Fiona Jones, which ended on Friday 19 March in Nottingham Crown court. A copy of the letter will be entered in the Journal of the House. Mrs. Jones was found guilty of the corrupt practice of making a false declaration as to election expenses. Under the provisions of the Representation of the People Act 1983, the seat is vacated with effect from 19 March.
