HC Deb 04 March 1998 vol 307 c1162

Question proposed, That the clause stand part of the Bill.

Mr. Dalyell

The Law Society has a query. It is of the view that the number of Lords of Appeal in Ordinary and holders of high judicial office under the Appellate Jurisdiction Act 1876 should be increased to ensure that the court is adequately served. What is the Government's reply to the Law Society?

Mr. McLeish

Of course, the court will be adequately served. I link this matter to the point that I should have made earlier about proper funding and resources being available. That will be the case.

Question put and agreed to.

Clause 94 ordered to stand part of the Bill.

Clauses 95 to 98 ordered to stand part of the Bill.
