§ Mrs. Virginia Bottomley (South-West Surrey)I wish to present a petition signed by 7,000 people collected by individuals and organisations throughout not only my constituency but that of my hon. Friend the Member for North-East Hampshire (Mr. Arbuthnot). People from throughout the region have signed the petition to complain about the appalling delays at Hindhead, an area with a landscape of national and international significance, where the road conditions are such that businesses are suffering and safety is being jeopardised and where there is growing impatience. The petition urges the Minister of Transport to accelerate the A3 Hindhead scheme under the review of trunk roads at the earliest opportunity.
