Queen's recommendation having been signified—

Motion made, and Question put forthwith, pursuant to Standing Order No. 52(1)(a), That, for the purposes of any Act resulting from the Greater London Authority Bill, it is expedient to authorise—

  1. (1) the charging on, and payment out of, the Consolidated Fund of expenditure incurred by returning officers in relation to the holding of the first ordinary election of the Greater London Authority; and
  2. (2) the payment out of money provided by Parliament of—
    1. (a) any expenditure incurred by a Minister of the Crown or government department under or by virtue of the Act; and
    2. (b) any increase attributable to the Act in the sums payable out of such money under any other Act.—[Mrs. McGuire.]
