Queen's recommendation having been signified—

Motion made, and Question put forthwith, pursuant to Standing Order No. 52(1)(a), That, for the purposes of any Act resulting from the Social Security Bill, it is expedient to authorise— (1) the payment out of money provided by Parliament of—

  1. (a) any expenditure incurred by the Secretary of State or the Lord Chancellor under the Act; and
  2. (b) any increase attributable to the Act in the sums which under any other Act are payable out of money so provided; and
(2) the payment out of the Consolidated Fund of any increase attributable to the Act in the sums which under any other Act are payable out of that Fund.—[Mr. Kevin Hughes.]
