Queen's recommendation having been signified—

Motion made, and Question put forthwith, pursuant to Standing Order No. 50A(1)(a), That, for the purposes of any Act resulting from the Transfer of Crofting Estates (Scotland) Bill [Lords], it is expedient to authorize—

  1. (1) The payment out of money provided by Parliament of any expenditure of the Secretary of State—
    1. (a) in making loans or grants to provide assistance to establish bodies to whom property is to be transferred under that Act and in defraying the legal expenses and other costs of such bodies in connection with the transfer;
    2. (b) in paying compensation in respect of the removal of rights of pre-emption under that Act; and
  2. (2) The payment into the Consolidated Fund of any sums received by the Secretary of State under that Act.—[Mr. Brandreth.]
