The Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department (Mr. John M. Taylor)I beg to move,
That the draft Legal Advice and Assistance (Scope) (Amendment) Regulations 1995, which were laid before this House on 20th June, be approved. This is a purely technical amendment, which is intended neither to extend nor to reduce the scope of assistance or representation, but merely to put transfer for trial, as we are now going to call it, on the same footing from a legal aid point of view as committals have been in the past.
§ Mr. Paul Boateng (Brent, South)As this is a purely technical motion, we welcome it.
§ Question put and agreed to.
