HC Deb 30 March 1994 vol 240 cc1041-2 10.30 pm
Mr. Alan Simpson (Nottingham, South)

On a point of order, Madam Deputy Speaker. As some of my constituents have told me that their employer, Asda, has informed them that unless they are prepared to work on Easter Sunday they will be sacked, and as those are illegal and coercive practices which are in breach not only of the Shops Act 1950, but of the commitments given in this House about the Sunday Trading Bill, which is being considered in another place, have you been informed of any Government intention to make a statement on the matter?

Madam Deputy Speaker (Dame Janet Fookes)

Madam Speaker has received no such indication.
