HC Deb 05 July 1994 vol 246 c149 3.31 pm
Mr. Harry Greenway (Ealing, North)

On a point of order Madam Speaker. With great respect, what precedent is there for a Chairman of Ways and Means to veto a Bill that would have enormous implications for jobs and economic development in my constituency of Ealing, North and in constituencies throughout London and beyond? I refer, of course, to the Crossrail Bill.

Madam Speaker

I fully support the course of action taken today by the Chairman of Ways and Means. The future progress of the Crossrail Bill is for the Government to determine.
