Ordered, That, notwithstanding the provisions of Standing Order No. 14 (Exempted business), the Speaker shall—

  1. (1) at the sitting on Wednesday 2nd February
    1. (a) not later than Seven o'clock put the Questions necessary to dispose of proceedings on the Motions in the name of Mr. William Waldegrave relating to Scientific Research; and
    2. (b) put the Question necessary to dispose of proceedings on the Motion in the name of Mr. Secretary Lilley relating to Child Support not later than three hours after their commencement; and the said Motion may be proceeded with after the expiry of the time for opposed business; and
  2. (2) at the sitting on Thursday 3rd February, not later than Ten o'clock put the Questions necessary to dispose of proceedings on the Motions in the name of Mr. Secretary Gummer relating to Local Government Finance; and those Questions may be decided after the expiry of the time for opposed business.—[Mr. Andrew Mitchell.]
