Mr. Secretary Rifkind, supported by Mr. Secretary Hurd, Mr. Secretary Clarke, Mr. Secretary Heseltine, Mr. Secretary Hunt, Mr. Secretary Lang, Mr. Secretary Sir Patrick Mayhew, Mr. Archie Hamilton and Mr. Jonathan Aitken, presented a Bill to secure that members of the regular army who, except for the purposes of training, are required to serve only in Northern Ireland are not regarded as members of the forces for the purposes of the Representation of the People Act 1983: And the same was read the First time; and ordered to be read a Second time tomorrow, and to be printed.
