§ Mrs. Gillian ShephardI beg to move amendment No. 43, in page 24, leave out lines 39 to 42 and insert
'knowing or recklessly makes a statement which is false or misleading in a material respect'.I shall be brief. This is a technical amendment which does not affect the substance of part III. The creation of a single offence of knowing or recklessly making a false or misleading statement brings the offence into line with similar provisions in the Bill and in other statutes.
