§ Mr. Roy Thomason (Bromsgrove)I present a petition in the following terms: To the Honourable the Commons of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Parliament assembled.
The Humble Petition of Michael Richardson, 71, Meadowfield Road, Rubery, Rednal in the County of Hereford and Worcester.
Showeth that the proposal of the Local Government Boundary Commission for England to transfer Rednal and Rubery into the City of Birmingham is against my wishes and my personal interests.
Wherefore your Petitioner prays that your Honourable House will reject these proposals and leave the boundaries as presently drawn.
And your Petitioner, as in duty bound will ever pray, etc. The petition is signed by Michael Richardson.
I have today deposited in the Bag almost 2,400 similar, individually prepared petitions as an indication of the strength of feeling on the issue and of the concern of my constituents.
