HC Deb 25 March 1991 vol 188 c741 11.52 pm
Mr. Lewis Stevens (Nuneaton)

I beg to present a petition that has been prompted by the concern felt by my constituents about the possible serious reductions in the educational provision of the under-fives in Warwickshire. I also hope that any such reductions will be avoided.

My hon. Friend the Member for Rugby and Kenilworth (Mr. Pawsey) will be presenting a similar petition. My petition, which is signed by about 30 constituents, and reflects the strong feelings held in my constituency, reads: To the honourable the Commons of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Parliament assembled. The humble petition of the North Warwickshire Under-Fives Action Group and other citizens of Warwickshire showeth that Warwickshire County Council has been unfairly treated in relation to the revenue support grant. Wherefore, your Petitioners pray that your Honourable House will urge the Secretary of State for the Environment to reconsider the level of revenue support grant for Warwickshire. And your Petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever pray &c.

To lie upon the Table.
