HC Deb 26 October 1990 vol 178 c630
Mr. Wells

My third petition is from 845 petitioners in the Bishop's Stortford and Hertford area. The petition states: the undersigned are alarmed that our Government is supporting a Treaty which will allow mining in Antarctica. Antarctica is the last great wilderness left on earth and should be kept this way: one place on Earth free from commercial development. Wherefore your Petitioners pray that your honourable House support International efforts to declare Antarctica a World Park.

To lie upon the Table.
