Lords amendment: No. 2, in page 5, line 8, leave out from "be" to "and" in line 10 and insert taken to be one half of the rate of the deceased spouse's guaranteed minimum pension at that time".

With this it will be convenient to discuss Lords amendment No. 3, in page 5, line 13. leave out from beginning to "of" in line 14 and insert subject to any directions under section 59A below (whether made before or after the coming into force of this subsection), be accordingly reduced under that subsection by an amount equal to the rate, as determined under paragraph (b) above".
