HC Deb 27 April 1990 vol 171 c697
Mr. Dennis Skinner (Bolsover)

On a point of order, Madam Deputy Speaker. Several times today I and some of my hon. Friends have asked for a Minister of the Crown to come to the Dispatch Box and start telling the House of Commons the truth about the future of the poll tax. We believe that, if Ministers can make contradictory statements on television and outside about the future of the tax, they have a duty to do so in the House——

Madam Deputy Speaker (Miss Betty Boothroyd)

Order.

Mr. Skinner

The nation wants to know——

Madam Deputy Speaker

Order.

Mr. Skinner

Has it been scrapped?

Madam Deputy Speaker

Order. I must place on record that these points of order have already been dealt with twice today. I must also inform the House that we are coming to the Adjournment debate and that the hon. Gentleman may take the time of the hon. Member for Banff and Buchan (Mr. Salmond), who has that debate.
