§ Mr. Norman Lamont accordingly presented a Bill to grant certain duties, to alter other duties, and to amend the law relating to the national debt and the public revenue, and to make further provision in connection with finance : And the same was read the First time; and ordered to be read a Second time tomorrow and to be printed. [Bill 127.]
11.20 pm§ Mr. Harry EwingOn a point of order, Mr. Speaker. You may not have noticed that just before you called the 10 o'clock Division there was without a shadow of a doubt physical violence inflicted by the Patronage Secretary and the Leader of the House on the Chancellor of the Exchequer. I have not seen such violence in the House since the night on which the right hon. Member for Henley (Mr. Heseltine) ran about with the Mace, threatening to batter everyone over the head. Surely you have some obligation to control these Tory hooligans — [interruption.]—once and for all.
