HC Deb 11 March 1988 vol 129 c761 9.36 am
Mr. John McFall (Dumbarton)

I am grateful for the opportunity to present a petition on Scottish poll tax legislation on behalf of 2,000 constituents in my area. The petition was gathered over a period of three or four Saturday mornings. The number of signatures demonstrates the intensity of feeling of my constituents about the legislation. It is my duty to ask the House to take cognisance of that feeling and repeal the Scottish poll tax legislation.

To lie upon the Table.
