§ The Secretary of State for Wales (Mr. Peter Walker)Inward investment projects from outside the United Kingdom secured during 1987 are planned to create or safeguard 5,161 jobs. These were 59 projects, which is an all-time record.
§ Sir Anthony MeyerFrom those figures, and the figures for preceding years, is it not clear that Wales was, and remains, exceptionally attractive to inward investors? Will my right hon. Friend continue his extremely successful efforts to attract still further investment in the Principality?
§ Mr. WalkerI am pleased to say that the available figures for 1987 show that Wales was the leading region in the United Kingdom for attracting inward investment.
