§ Miss Ann Widdecombe (Maidstone)I have the honour to present this petition signed by 81 members of my constituency from the Baptist church in Loose, and the Christian Bookshop in Maidstone calling for the speedy release of Anna Chertkova, who was wrongfully detained in a Soviet psychiatric hospital for many years.
The petition showeth,
Wherefore your petitioners pray that your Honourable House encourage the Foreign Secretary in representations to the Soviet Government with the purpose of obtaining Miss Chertkova's release and reunion with relatives in the West. And your petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray, etc.
