§ Mr. Clive Soley (Hammersmith)I should like to present a petition given to me by Paul Newman and signed by some 500 pupils and students of the four Inns of Court—Middle Temple, Inner Temple, Gray's Inn and Lincoln's Inn. It asks the House to protect the right of peremptory challenge, which is being questioned in the Criminal Justice Act 1982 (Amendment) Bill.
