Lords amendment: No. 88, in page 28, line 13, at beginning insert Subject to subsection (2A) below,

I beg to move, That this House doth agree with the Lords in the said amendment.

With this it will be convenient to take Lords amendments Nos. 89 to 91.

These amendments make the custody officer responsible for directing the release of a person in police detention, irrespective of whether he is in a police station.

Lords amendment: No. 92, in page 28, line 33, at end insert—

"(5) For the purposes of this Part of this Act a person arrested under section 7(5) of the Road Traffic Act 1972 is arrested for an offence."
