Motion made, and Question, That, as from 14th March 1984,—

  1. (a) the rate of duty specified in section 62(1) of the Alcoholic Liquor Duties Act 1979 shall be increased from £9.69 per hectolitre to £14.28 per hectolitre; and
  2. (b) in the definition of "cider" in section 1(6) of that Act for the words "strength less than 8.7 per cent." there shall be substituted "strength less than 8.5 per cent.".
And it is hereby declared that it is expedient in the public interest that this Resolution should have statutory effect under the provisions of the Provisional Collection of Taxes Act 1968.—
