§ 15. Mr. Adleyasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what information he has received from mobile home site operators about his Budget; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. HayhoeOur decision to widen the reliefs available to many holiday site operators under clause 49 of the Finance Bill has been widely welcomed.
§ Mr. AdleyIn adding my voice to that welcome, may I ask my hon. Friend whether he is aware that I have given up a pleasant day's electioneering in Dorset to come and press the case of my constituents, many of whom are in this business and who still feel that, even as a result of the changes, they are called on to justify their position as both legitimate employers and full-time business operators? As many of my constituents are legitimate business men operating full time in this shpere, will he further scrutinise the proposed changes to make sure that my constituents are not called upon to make themselves appear to be respectable?
§ Mr. HayhoeThe changes announced by my right hon. and learned Friend the Chief Secretary in the Finance Bill Committee were widely welcomed, as I said, and are fair and reasonable to all concerned. As he then undertook to take account of any representations that were made to him before he came to propose amendments on Report, I am sure that he will take into account any representations that my hon. Friend would like to make.
