Queen's Recommendation having been signified—

Resolved, That, for the purposes of any Act resulting from the Data Protection Bill [Lords], it is expedient to authorize—

  1. (a) the charging on and issue out of the Consolidated Fund of any sums required for paying a salary to, or paying (or making payments towards the provision of) a pension, allowance or gratuity to or in respect of the Registrar appointed under that Act;
  2. (b) the payment out of moneys provided by Parliament of—
    1. (i) any sums required by the Secretary of State for making payments towards the expenses of the Registrar;
    2. (ii) any sums required by the Secretary of State for the payment of remuneration and allowances to members of the Tribunal established by that Act and for defraying its expenses;
    3. (iii) any expenses incurred by a government department in complying with the requirements imposed by that Act on data users and persons carrying on computer bureaux;
  3. (c) any increase attributable to that Act in the sums which are payable out of such moneys under any other Act. —[Mr. Major.]
