HC Deb 20 December 1984 vol 70 c573 4.37 pm
Mr. Tony Lloyd (Stretford)

On a point of order, Mr. Speaker. During the Business Statement the Leader of the House quite properly invited an hon. Member who asked him about the debate on Stansted to await the statement of the Secretary of State for Transport. In due course the Secretary of State for Transport, when questioned about the debate on Stansted, referred the matter back to the Leader of the House.

Because of the great concern on both sides of the House about the debate, its form will be important and we shall want to know whether there is to be a vote on a substantive motion. We have had a statement from the Leader of the House, and I ask for your assistance so that I may know how to proceed on the matter.

Mr. Speaker

I think that that is a matter for the Leader of the House, and no doubt at the appropriate time we shall know that.
