HC Deb 06 December 1984 vol 69 c637 1.22 am
Mr. John Powley (Norwich, South)

I have the honour to present a petition for the protection of the human embryo, signed by some 1,295 residents of my constituency. They state Wherefore Your Petitoners Pray that the House of Commons will take immediate steps to enact legislation which forbids any procedure that involves purchase or sale of human embryos, the discarding of human embryos, their use as sources of transplant tissue or subjects for research or experiment (unless this is done solely for the benefit of the embryo concerned). I support the petition, and beg leave to present it to the House.

To lie upon the Table.
