§ Mr. RidleyI should like briefly to explain the details of the clause. For a long time, my hon. Friend the Member for Beckenham (Sir P. Goodhart) and others have pointed out that sportsmen and others whose careers peter out very early due to anno domini have been denied the full benefits of retirement annuity relief. The clause will be of great benefit to footballers, jockeys and others who have hitherto been unable to obtain those benefits, and I believe that the Committee will welcome it.
