§ 8. Mr. Proctorasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, pursuant to the reply of 10 February, Official Report, c. 458, to the hon. Member for Basildon, whether he has yet received the strategy document for 1983–84 from the Northern Ireland industrial development board; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Adam ButlerI have now received a strategy document from the industrial development board. This document sets out the activities and initiatives that the board would like to see the executive undertaking in the year 1983–84 to encourage and support industrial development in Northern Ireland. The board has done well to produce such a document within a few months of its appointment. I have studied it and earlier this week gave my approval to the broad strategic objectives outlined in the document.
§ Mr. ProctorIs my hon. Friend aware that many hon. Members will welcome the fact that he has now received the report and considered it? Will he publish the document and make arrangements for Members of the House to consider it and debate it?
§ Mr. ButlerI assure the House that the board intends to publish a document—either the report as it stands or, more likely, a version of it that will accurately reflect the contents.
