HC Deb 04 March 1983 vol 38 c471 9.35 am
Mr. Laurie Pavitt (Brent, South)

I beg to ask leave to present a petition that was initiated by the Wembley Central Labour party, accompanied by others in similar terms and signed by 181 residents in my constituency, including councillors, hospital worker and patients, trying to prevent the closure or rundown of the services of a much-loved hospital in the heart of a thriving multi-racial community.

The prayer of the petition is as follows: We, your petitioners, humbly pray your honourable House to urge the Secretary of State for Social Services to ensure that Wembley hospital remains open and that the services there are maintained at their present level, or improved, and your petitioners as in duty bound, will ever pray.

To lie upon the Table.
