Queen's Recommendation having been signified—
§
Resolved,
That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to amend the law relating to the financing of certain social services in England and Wales and Scotland, it is expedient to authorise—
- (a) the payment out of money provided by Parliament of any expenses incurred by the Secretary of State under that Act—
- (i) in making payments authorised by the Act to local authorities in Wales or in connection with the provision of housing accommodation in Wales or payments in lieu to voluntary organisations;
- (ii) in making grants for the training of social workers;
- (iii) for the purpose of any provision of the Act relating to any tribunal or other body or to medical practitioners appointed to determine questions under the Social Security Act 1975;
- (b) any increase attributable to the provisions of the Act in the sums payable out of such money under any other Act;
- (c) the payment into the Consolidated Fund of any sums repaid to the Secretary of State in pursuance of the Act.—[Mr. Newton.]
